Ayodhya Deepotsav 2024: The Deepotsav of Ayodhya has created a new record where 25 lakh 12 thousand 585 diyas were lit simultaneously. This is the seventh time in a row that Ayodhya has broken its record and set a new record. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the certificate from the consultant of Guinness World Records. Diyas were lit on 55 ghats of Saryu.

The eighth edition of Deepotsav of Ramnagari also wrote a new chapter. This year too, Ayodhya Dham broke its record for the seventh time in a row and set a new record. A new record of lighting 25 lakh 12 thousand 585 diyas simultaneously has been created. As soon as the counting of the lamps lit on the 55 ghats of Saryu was completed, the new record was announced and the people present there were overjoyed.
When Guinness World Records consultant Nischal Barot handed over the certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, every audience expressed their happiness with applause. Along with this, a new record of Saryu Aarti of 1121 priests has also been made in Ramnagari.
Inauguration After Greeting The Saints
After the coronation program of Lord Shri Ram in Ram Katha Park, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Ram Ki Paadi at around 6:30 pm and greeted the saints and sages present along with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and other members of the cabinet. After this, the programs were formally inaugurated.
The Chief Minister performed Abhishek and Puja of Mother Saryu. Thereafter, the Maha Aarti of Mother Saryu started with 1121 Batukas, saints, women, and others present on the banks of Saryu. Meanwhile, the saints and religious leaders kept chanting mantras. The entire campus was filled with devotion. During the Aarti, the banks of the Saryu River at Ram Ki Paidi were bathed in colorful lights. The volunteers posted at the ghats, in-charges, and others were chirping with joy.
30 thousand Volunteers Lit Diyas
After the Maha Aarti, all the saints, volunteers, ministers, mayor, MLAs, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratibha Goyal and others present with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lit diyas. 30 thousand volunteers started lighting the diyas one by one with candles, which were already decorated at Ram Ki Paidi, Bhajan Sandhya Sthal, and various ghats of Chaudhary Charan Singh.
After a short interval, the ghats of Saryu were illuminated with the divine aura of the lamps. There was joy all around. After lighting the lamps, the 30-member team of Guinness World Records counted the lit lamps under the leadership of consultant Nischal Barot. During the counting, people present on the ghats and roads stood with bated breath.
At an interval of about half an hour, 25 lakh 12 thousand 585 diyas were found lit simultaneously for five minutes. With this, when the announcement of a new world record being made for the seventh time in a row was made, there was joy everywhere.
The redness of the new record was bright on everyone’s face. At the same time, the entire area was spreading amazing colors through projection lighting and flame show. People kept capturing the incomparable, unique, unimaginable scene of every moment of this rainbow shade in their cameras. They kept taking selfies and clicking each other’s photos.
Laser shows & Drone Shows Spread Amazing Splendor
As soon as the new record was set, every building and every ghat situated on the banks of Ram ki Paidi was bathed in colorful lights. The laser show and drone show held together spread an amazing aura.
Through the drone show together, the figures of Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman along with other great men entertained a lot. People took a lot of photos to make this amazing scene unforgettable forever. The fireworks done on the Gonda Saryu bridge adjacent to Ram ki Paidi also created amazing enthusiasm and excitement.
How World Records Were Made In The Previous Deepotsav
New records have been made continuously in the Deepotsav started by the Yogi government of the state in the year 2017. This was the seventh time when a new record had been set. In the previous Deepotsav in 2017, 1.71 lakh lamps were lit simultaneously.
3.01 lakh diyas were lit in the second Deepotsav of the year 2018, 4.04 lakh diyas were lit in the third Deepotsav of 2019, and 6.06 lakh diyas were lit in the fourth Deepotsav of 2020. After this, a record of lighting 9.41 lakh diyas in 2021, a total of 15.76 lakh diyas in 2022, and 22.23 lakh diyas in the seventh Deepotsav of 2023 was made.
